I give my soul to God.
I give my body to the earth.
I give my poems to posterity.
I give my spirit to tolerance.
I give my mind to the future.
I give my thoughts to scholars.
I give my sex life to biographers.
I give my dreams back to the collective.
I give my smile to the lonely.
I give my emails to cyberspace.
I give my wisdom to the stars.
I give my confessions to the ocean.
I give my childhood to an orphan in Africa.
I give my vote to citizens in a totalitarian state.
I give my freedom of speech to a fundamentalist.
I give the words, Life is to create, to my tombstone.
I give my hope to the next generation.
I give my ideals to the unborn.
I return the life stories to friends who shared with me.
I leave my heart to those I love.
